SIBERIAN KITTENS

As their name suggests, Siberian cats are native to Siberia, a region in Russia known for its harsh, long winters. Their rugged origins are reflected in their thick, weatherproof triple coat and strong, sturdy build.

These alert and solidly built cats maintain a playful, kitten-like personality throughout much of their lives. Siberians are known for their sweet, affectionate nature and love to cuddle. They are deeply devoted to their owners and generally get along well with children and other pets. With their affectionate and playful temperament, Siberians tend to be very social and loving companions.

This breed matures slowly, both physically and emotionally, with some Siberians taking up to five years to reach full maturity. As a result, they remain playful and kittenish for much of their lives.

Siberians require regular grooming, needing to be brushed at least three times a week to prevent matting in their luxurious coat. According to Dr. Natalie L. Marks, DVM, CVJ of Vet Scoop, they typically don’t need frequent bathing due to their water-resistant triple coat.
